Our Story
The Post Graduate Institute of Dental Surgery was built on the foundations of the finest tertiary educational institutions from around the world.
It was conceived by a group of like-minded clinical academics who had held senior teaching positions in many universities and dental schools internationally.
PGIDS has been designed to deliver education, learning, and clinical training to the highest levels in dentistry.
The courses are designed to complete the jigsaw that is modern dentistry revelling the complete picture enabling clinicians at all levels to diagnose, plan and provide treatment to the very highest levels of quality and success.
To this end PGDS courses are modular enabling clinicians to choose those that most suit their needs and manage their time most effectively.
The courses come together to form a complete and accredited diploma which is regulated by and awarding body recognised to SQA accreditation. An internationally recognised qualification.

Professor Neil Meredith

Professor Meredith qualified at Guys hospital andĀ completed an MSc in Conservative Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Institute in London. He was awarded his first PhD at Imperial College in 1992. In 1993 he was recognized as a specialist in both Prosthodontics and Restorative dentistry by the General Dental Council.
In 1992 he invented the use of Resonance Frequency Analysis to measure dental implant stability, a technique that has now become the international benchmark known as Osstell.
He was awarded his second PhD from the University of Gothenburg for his work in 1996. Neil became Professor of Restorative Dentistry and Biomaterials at the University of Leeds in 1997.
Following his entrepeneurial spirit he invented Neoss, of which he was CEO from 2000-2011.
2011 saw a return to academia when Neil joined the University of Queensland as Professor of Dental Implantology and Prosthodontics. He formed the Postgraduate Institute of Dental Surgery in March 2020 which focusses on accredited diploma and certificate programs of excellence in dental implantology. Neil Ā lectures internationally and is engaged in new technology and product developments .
Professor Victor Tsang
Professor Victor Tsang is a Clinical Professor at the Post Graduate Institute of Dental Surgery (PGIDS) and an Associate Professor in Advanced Imaging (MRI) at Western Sydney University. He holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Sydney University and a Master of Medicine in Advanced Imaging. Dr. Tsang founded several prominent dental practices in Australia and has advanced dental education globally, specializing in Digital Navigation Implantology and MRI for Dentistry. He has lectured for institutions including the Australian Army and earned honors like the Australian Defence Medal and Defence Long Service Medal. Dr. Tsang is a Fellow of the International Pierre Fauchard Academy.
